Rhythm Infusion 2015

June 13th – 14th, 2015

Join us for Rhythm Infusion – a 2-day workshop series featuring San Diego-based performer and teacher, Monette Marino. Marino has been drumming for more than 30 years, and has years of in-depth study and practice in Latin and West African drumming. She is a former apprentice of master drummer Mamady Keita. In 1998, after passing Keita’s examination, she was granted Certification in Mandingue drumming, and given permission by Mr. Keita to open the 11th branch of his international drumming school, The Tam Tam Mandingue. Marino has traveled and performed with Keita and his performing ensemble Sewa Kan to more than 20 countries on 6 continents. She has also produced an album, “Coup d’Eclat,” which blends African and Latin rhythms and melodies inside Funk and Rock grooves. Marino continues to explore many drumming systems from around the world and has a deep respect for the cultural heritage preserved and passed on through the language of the drum.

Brought to you by the Bele Bele Rhythm Collective,  Drumlady.com,  The House of Musical Traditions and the Wednesday Night Drum Jams.
